‘Wyrd Sisters’ by renowned writer Terry Pratchett, an adaption by Square One Theatre Group – Bray, Co. Wicklow
A spoof comedy (like Blackadder or Life of Brian) with a big cast, most who audition should be able to appear on stage.
📍Auditions will take place on
Monday 8th & Tuesday 9th of January with a 7.30pm start.
A 3rd date to be announced to accommodate those who can’t manage either.
Main speaking cast is,
for women,
the 3 witches (2 middle aged/old, and one young),
The evil Duchess,
and Mrs Vitoller, wife of the theatre manager.
For the guys,
Death,
the late King Verence,
the evil Duke, Vitoller,
Tomjon (an actor)
Hwel (a playwright),
and the Fool. The Fool and Tomjon need to be young.
There are also other speaking parts, which can to some extent be played by either gender: A Demon, Sergeants, Guards, Robbers, Actors in the play-within-the-play. Also at least one crowd scene.
Anyone interested in lights, please step forward!
The first read-through will be on Monday 29th January.
Rehearsals will be on Mondays and Wednesdays plus some Sundays further into the rehearsal stage. The play is in about 25 small scenes, so not everyone will be needed for every rehearsal.
The show will run from the 9th to 13th of April at the Mermaid County Wicklow Arts Centre
