Kite Entertainment are making a new factual show for Virgin Media and we’re looking for people who are over 21yrs old, living in Dublin city and who would be willing to live with an elderly homeowner in their house for two weeks.  At the end of the two weeks, if both parties are happy with the living arrangement and decide they’d like to live together on a more permanent basis (for an affordable rental amount), we have a professional who helps them organise a long term living rental arrangement.

The premise of the show is that our homeowner opens up their spare room and allows a young guest (over 21yrs of age) live with them for two weeks.  The homeowner would have an active lifestyle but the young guest will give 10 hours a week of their time to their host.  They will spend those 10 hours in a variety of ways and we film the two generations in their shared heartwarming and unique environment over two weeks.  Loneliness amongst elderly people who live by themselves is a problem (no matter how active that person is) and exorbitant rental prices in Ireland is a huge problem especially for younger Irish generations on low incomes.  What the show hopes to achieve is by pairing these two intergenerational groups, they both find a happy and affordable living environment.

We would be filming the guest and homeowner separately, going about their independent day to day lives and then filming them doing various activities, we organise for them.  The guest will live in the homeowners house for two weeks for free and will also get 200euros.  Any meals and activities in relation to filming will also be paid for.  We ask that all the guests must be interested in taking up a long term lease in the house, should they enjoy living there.

I’m also happy to talk with anyone who wants more details about what is involved in relation to filming.

Many thanks for any help with this.
All the best,
