Casting three roles in this dark comedy / psychological thriller:
Mairéad – Female, lead role, early 20s
Lorraine – Female, lead role, 30+
Paul – Male, supporting role, early 20s
SynopsisAfter the accidental death of her close friend, Mairéad retreats to a remote home on the coast of Ireland, only to find it unexpectedly occupied by an eccentric woman – haunted by a tragedy of her own. As an unlikely friendship forms, buried guilt begins to distort reality, forcing both women to confront the consequences of their past.
Character Bios:
Mairead
A thoughtful but emotionally guarded psychology student who retreats to a remote holiday home following the sudden death of her closest friend. Intelligent and introspective, Mairead struggles to connect with Lorraine at first, as she quietly battles overwhelming grief and guilt. The role demands subtle emotional depth, with much of the character’s inner life communicated through silence and physical performance.
Lorraine
An eccentric, warm-hearted artist with an irreverent sense of humour and a gift for putting others at ease. Beneath her outgoing, charismatic exterior lies the weight of a tragic past that has profoundly shaped her outlook on life. Lorraine is simultaneously funny, compassionate and quietly haunted, requiring an actor capable of balancing warmth, vulnerability and emotional complexity.
Paul
A friendly local taxi driver with an easy-going charm and genuine concern for those around him. Talkative without being overbearing, Paul attempts to offer comfort to a grieving stranger but instinctively knows when to step back. Though a supporting role, Paul helps establish the warmth and character of the local community and requires a naturalistic, understated performance.
