TRISH (Female, Irish, Acting age 60s)
A seasoned sea swimmer. Practical, wry, and quietly encouraging. She forms a subtle connection with the main character, Sheena, through brief conversations at Seaport.
Must feel comfortable swimming in the sea and be able to swim the front crawl at least 20 meters easily.
MARY (Female, Irish, Acting age 50s–60s)
Head nurse of the ward. Professional, procedural, and observant. Not unkind, but firmly committed to hospital processes.
PAULA (Female, Irish, late 30s–40s)
Friendly hospital colleague. Chatty and well-meaning, though sometimes unaware of the deeper struggles of others.
JACINTO (Male, Filipino, 30s–40s)
A Filipino nurse who shares language and humour with Sheena. Colourful presence. Tagalog speaker required.
BETTY (Female, Irish, 80+)
An elderly patient with dementia requiring care and reassurance.
GLADYS (Female, Irish, 70s–80s)
A refined patient who believes she is travelling on a train.
IMPATIENT SEA SWIMMER (Female, Irish, 30s–40s)
Confident swimmer who bluntly challenges Sheena at the steps.
FILIPINA HOUSEMATE (Female, Filipina, 20s–30s)
Warm and supportive roommate who quietly celebrates Sheena’s birthday. Tagalog speaker required.
