Mary, a seasoned and mature Irish officer employed at the ‘Department of Social Protection.’ With a strong devotion to her faith, Mary’s life is guided by her religious beliefs, which reflect in her unwavering commitment to her work. As a dole officer, she takes her responsibilities seriously, displaying a no-nonsense and strict demeanor when it comes to enforcing regulations and protocols. Behind her stern exterior, Mary’s heart is driven by the desire to serve her community and ensure that those in need receive the support they require.

Synopsis:

In this comedy, “Idle Craturs” blends the everyday struggles of modern Irish life with a dash of mythical charm. Meet Michael, the Minotaur, an aspiring immigrant actor forced to rely on the dole for survival. Joining him on this whimsical journey are Cliodhna, the banshee with a feisty Fenian spirit, Peter, The Púca, a shape-shifting and mischievous drunkard hound, and Mary, the dole officer with an unwavering obsession with Neil Gaiman, whom she worships like a deity. Watch as these legendary beings not only interact with each other but also hilariously collide with the contemporary world.
