Ros na Rún is looking for new talent for its exciting story lines for season 27 which commences filming in an Spidéal in Connemara in August 2022.
We plan on holding auditions in Dublin on the 3rd/4th May, in Donegal on the 10th of May and finishing in Kerry.

Are you an Irish speaker, and looking for an acting opportunity in television? The long established and only Irish, Rural based TV drama, Ros na Rún, broadcast on TG4 is looking for new talent for its exciting story lines for season 27 which commences filming in an Spidéal in Connemara in August 2022.
Among the current cast of Ros na Rún are Hot House Flowers, Fiachna O Braoináin and Kilnascully’s Jacksie, played by Galway arts and culture commentator, Pádraig Breathnach. Above all, Ros na Rún is renowned for fostering organic acting talent at all ages and the TG4 drama series creates a family of Irish language actors who take pride in their roles as Irish language actors on the popular TG4 drama series.
The drama series, who’s gifted script and story writers create endearing characters who bring social issues in rural Ireland to our screens in a brave and bold manner are also creative in bringing much needed comedy to stories which captivate a loyal audience across Ireland and internationally on the TG4 and RTE’s player.
Adults of all ages, male and female with Gaeilge who’re looking for something new, a change of career, a challenge or a TV acting career, the TG4, Irish language Soap Opera invites you to contact them for potential auditions by April 19th.
The popular Irish Language Soap Opera has for 26 seasons led the way on Irish TV, as the largest independent TV drama production outside of Dublin in the history of the state. It’s attracted the world famous country star, Daniel O’Donnell who chose the Irish language drama for his TV acting debut feature.
Being the first to delve into the severity of many of rural Ireland’s growing social issues from child and domestic abuse, to incest, rape, drug abuse the popular Irish Language rural drama series also features the intrigue and softer side of life with comedy, romance, love, lies and affairs! Ros na Run’s current story lines feature many highly topical social issues including the much talked about coercive control, narcissism, drugs in our community. New and up and coming stars bring their creative acting craft to the set alongside Ros na Rún stalwarts Tadhg O Direáin played by Macdara O Fatharta, Caitriona Ní Loideáin played by Máire Éilís Ní Fhlatharta and Berni Ní Neachtain played by Fionnuala Ní Fhlatharta who compel their loyal fan base every season with the intensity of their storylines.
Series producer Marion Ní Loinsigh said, “We’re keen to audition many roles from adult male and female actors of all ages for various parts. We’re looking for diversity this season and regional spread across the Irish Language voice.
A co-production between independent TV Production Companies, Danú Media and Tyrone Productions, Ros na Rún is a significant employer in the Connemara Gaeltacht with up to 160 people employed to include cast, crew and script writers. Working entirely as Gaeilge, 82 episodes of the popular rural TV Drama are filmed on a dual studio, purpose-built TV Set in the coastal village of an Spidéal on the Wild Atlantic Way route of the Connemara Gaeltacht.
In addition, the working TV Set and its campus is also home to the Gréasán na Meán Skillnet Programme and the Atlantic Academy training hub. Through innovative training initiatives, Gréasán na Meán and Atlantic Academy creates opportunities for renewed training and upskilling in TV Production and the Creative Arts Sector along with employment opportunities in the sector.
