Near FM Radio Play Casting Call
Near FM are producing a series of radio plays and are currently looking for one young male actor (age 10-15 approx), who can play the parts of two boys in five separate scenes. A script can be forwarded on.
The play is Buckle, written by Christine Madden (synopsis below). Dates for rehearsal / recording are March 30th/31. If interested please contact Paul Loughran on 01-5079847 or paul@near.ie.
Remuneration Type: €120 per day, or €60 per half day deepening on how much time is needed. Rehearsal and recording expected. (to a max of 1.5 days)
Buckle – Short description
Lily Albright’s teenage son is dead. The man who pleaded guilty to his murder is in prison. What compels Lily to visit her son’s killer in prison? Yet she does, repeatedly, searching for answers to questions she can’t articulate, questions she dreads. Shane, who is responsible for Billy’s death, does not welcome Lily’s visits, nor does he oblige her with any information. What he withholds, though, is more than the specifics of a kill: it’s a life laced with fear and anger, pain and guilt. Bit by bit, Lily draws him out, and they form an unlikely bond over a tragic death that devastated them both.
