It will be an intensive course, employing one to three cameras, and focusing solely on Film and TV scene work.
Framing, eye lines, blocking, continuity for the one camera (Film and Episodic TV) and for the three-camera set-ups (Soaps and Sitcoms).
How to feel comfortable in front of camera and create a circle of “in the moment” security while on set.

Gillian will focus on the technical skills required for working on different formats for Film, TV and Soaps.

Film Director/Writer Peter Sheridan will focus on film and the Art of Acting for Film. His class will be based on practical exercises for camera, with playback analysis.
There will also be a Masterclass with Hilary Reynolds and Clelia Murphy from “Fair City”, who will work on Acting techniques and script analysis for TV Soaps and the approaches an actor takes to bring a soap character to life. Having been both an Actress and currently one of the principal writers for FAIR  CITY for several years, Hilary Reynolds will analyse the subtle techniques needed to master the development of Soap characterisation. She will use current Soap scripts for practicals.

Clelia will discuss her experiences about working on a Soap and its demands and rewards.
Between Hilary and Clelia, you will better understand how Soaps develop from the story room to acting in studio, plus  explore how to prepare as an actor and what to expect on set.
You will work on scenes, dissect character, focus on technique, shoot and view on screen, ending with a discussion on how you might improve your skills with confidence.

Stanislavski: A One Day Intensive Workshop Run By Elizabeth-Moynihan
(Actress And Writer)

[/vc_column_text][vc_text_separator title=”” i_icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-video-camera” i_color=”custom” i_size=”sm” color=”custom” add_icon=”true” i_custom_color=”#734401″ accent_color=”#734401″][vc_column_text el_class=”reduced-margin”]Stanislavski developed the method technique still being used by many actors world wide to help them create believable characters with real emotions and actions in the characters they portray. Stanislavski method acting is basically in seven steps.

We have Elizabeth Moynihan giving a workshop on Stanislavski on Saturday 8th June-for less experienced actors and on Sunday June 9th for EXPERIENCED actors.Venue:The Lab Foley Street.Full details and dates have just been posted under our Blog section as we are currently upgrading our web page.[/vc_column_text][ultimate_modal modal_title=”Read more” btn_size=”md” btn_bg_color=”#6b4105″ btn_bg_hover_color=”#6b4105″ btn_text=”Read more…” modal_size=”medium” overlay_bg_color=”#0a0a0a” overlay_bg_opacity=”80″ content_bg_color=”#181818″ header_bg_color=”#181818″ modal_border_style=”solid” modal_border_width=”2″ modal_border_color=”#693f04″ modal_border_radius=”0″ img_size=”50″ header_text_color=”#f29a1c” content_text_color=”#999999″ btn_txt_color=”#ffffff”]This is suitable for actors who have some training and who want instant knowledge of the Stanislavski Method without the trouble of having to plough through books – often with quite bad translations.

The Method empowers actors to use their imagination, senses and emotions to create real performances that are founded in the ‘truth of the moment’. Lots of actors use this technique, like Julia Roberts, Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper.

Stanislavski was a Russian actor, director, and teacher, and he co-founded the legendary Moscow Arts Theatre. He created a ‘system’ for actors to use in rehearsals. This ‘system’ was to develop an understanding of the motivations, obstacles, and objectives of any character in every moment. All of these elements will be discussed.

Elizabeth will also cover the following:

*The Classic Stanislavski Warm-Up
*Basic Stanislavski exercises.
*Loggerheads and the art of improvisation.
*Justification of an action.
*Room Re-Call.
*Portrait Exercises
*The Moment before …
*Inner monologues.
*Building a character.
*Hot seating.

The summer camps at Dublin Central School of Acting are an action packed intensive week long workshop for 12-17 year olds. The course is specifically designed for young people with little or no experience in film-making or acting for camera – which is very different from stage acting!

At DCSA, students learn the difference between stage and film acting.
It is suitable for students who want to work as a Blogger on You Tube, like Casper Lee, or act for Screen, or explore the possibility of Film Directing.

Many movie Directors and Actors began making short films as teens before going to film or drama school. Others learnt creatively without ever going to film or drama school!!!! Others may be just curious as how you become a You Tube blogger like Casper Lee – who has become a very, very wealthy young man by just blogging.

It is aimed at students who either want to be Film Directors or for those who want to be Screen Actors.
If you want to be a be a director or actor – you need to know how to direct actors, and as an actor you need to know what to expect from a director. You have to learn how to work with each other – to communicate with each other and to understand their respective roles, so that the film is the best it can be – with both parties pulling together. The day is divided between instruction, followed by practicals – so all that is learnt in theory is immediately put into practice. We switch constantly from theory to “on set” demonstrations.
